在MK学院, we work with so many fantastic employers to provide 学徒制 in and around Milton Keynes. We were lucky enough to chat to one of our past apprentices, Sana莫德, HR Team Administrator at Grand Union Housing Group, to hear all about her time during her 业务 Administration apprenticeship at 可大学.

I’m an HR Team Administrator at Grand Union Housing Group and I’ve just completed an apprenticeship in Level 3 业务 Administration. I have seen a huge improvement in my self-confidence and I’m very proud to have achieved a distinction on my EPA.

I struggled to decide which field of work I wanted to get into, and so I applied to loads of jobs without an actual aim and wasn’t very successful. I knew that HR was something that I wanted to be involved in and so I applied. There are loads of great apprenticeships out there you just have to be willing to do the research and hard work to find the right path for you.

The main obstacle I overcame during my apprenticeship was learning how to balance working life and studying at the same time during the pandemic, She is an asset to 可大学 and an exceptional tutor – anyone that gets to work with her is very lucky!

I chose to do an apprenticeship because I wanted to get qualified while earning instead of building up Uni debt. I would definitely recommend an apprenticeship – it’s the smart option. I’m going on to do my level 3 CIPD with 可大学 so I can work my way up the HR career path.

Don’t be put off by the fact that you don’t have much work experience. 雇主 know that you’re fresh out of school and so they won’t expect you to have any experience. What you need to focus on is getting good grades and doing volunteer/charity work to bulk up your CV with experience. There is a huge interest in apprenticeships and so there’s a lot of competition. 不要懒于申请, you need to stand out amongst hundreds of others and prove why employers should spend their time and money on you as supposed to everyone else who applied.

Apprentices used to be seen as someone to give all the rubbish work to,
